SEWING A SEAM WITH SINGLE SEAMS

PINNING

Pick up the two red and white units and put a floating pin in the first corner and anchor a pin in the last corner.

This is where the registration marks come into play. Put a pin in the bottom of the registration mark.
Matching the V up with the seam on the back, move the seam to the left, insert the pin in the corner and anchor it.

Next pin the seam on top. Move the seam to the left and insert a pin in the corner.
And through the point of the V in the back.

These are all the pins you will need.

HOW TO STITCH WITH A SINGLE SEAM ON THE BOTTOM

Sew right up to the V, bringing the needle up, in the corner of the seam on the back.
Through to the bottom of the V, on the front, again at the sewing line.

Be sure not to stitch into the fold.

You can either do the above stitch as one movement or you can pull the needle through and make the last stitch by it's self. In either case, as you bring the needle up, you can feel it scraping against the fold, this ensures that you are stitching close to the fold and prevents gaps.

Move the seam, on the back, to the right. Go down one stitch away from the left side of the V
And one stitch away from the left corner of the seam.

Come back up in the corner of the seam
And the bottom of the V

Starting one stitch length from the bottom of the V, continue loading the needle

HOW TO STITCH WITH A SINGLE SEAM ON TOP

Sew up to the seam on the top stopping one stitch away and pull the needle through.

Take the next stitch coming up at the point of the V on the back
and through the corner of the seam on the front, make sure you are not catching any of the fold.

Go down half way through the last stitch, taking a long stitch
Coming up one stitch away from the left side of the VAnd one stitch away from the left side of the seam and go back down in the corner of the seamInto the point of the V

Continue loading the needle and stitch to the end.

Press the seam either to the left or right then lay it back down in position.
